The team at Lennox House in Finsbury Park, Islington, London have a great opportunity for a passionate and hands on nurse to join the home as clinical deputy manager.

    Your role will incorporate providing leadership for the nursing and care teams and supporting the development and delivery of consistently high quality clinical and care services for residents with complex health and social care needs.

    Overall responsibilities:

    Comply with the clinical governance framework and all activities related to it. This includes participation in the clinical audit programme
    Provide leadership and support for clinical and care colleagues and act as a champion for residents’ safety and dignity.
    To maintain skills and knowledge and ensure that care is delivered according to latest guidelines and best practice evidence available.
    Develop monitoring and reporting systems which promote the delivery of safe, effective and high quality services.
    Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used by colleagues.

    Key Responsibilities

    To provide leadership and support for clinical and care colleagues and act as a champion for resident’s safety and dignity

    Work with the home manager to formulate strategies for service development or changes in service provision and support implementation
    Provide effective leadership and support for the nursing and care team within the home.
    Supervise nurses on a day to day basis and through formal clinical supervision.
    Act as a mentor for new nurses joining the team or for those who require specific support to develop clinical skills or knowledge.
    Liaise with GPs and other health professionals to ensure that residents receive the medical and clinical support they require.
    Demand high quality service delivery focused on residents individually assessed needs.
    Act within Care UK’s Admission & Discharge Policy.

    What you’ll do

    Supporting and deputising for the Home Manager, you will provide inspiring leadership to nursing and care colleagues and oversee the delivery of high quality clinical and pastoral care.

    You will be the homes nurse expert and your role will be a combination of utilising your nursing skills as well as your managerial and leadership skills

    You will focus on residents with complex needs, so it’s vital that you can conform with the latest guidelines, take far-reaching decisions and maintain the highest levels of clinical governance, whilst regularly auditing practices and procedures. You will be doing care plan development and assessments, walk rounds and looking after all our residents alongside the team and offer personalised centred care.

    Who you are

    An NMC Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD), you will be well versed in care planning processes and fully familiar with clinical assessment tools.

    You will be keen to develop your leadership skills and clinical knowledge, capable of building close relationships with residents and their families, and determined to drive continuous improvement.

    Set in a peaceful residential area of Islington in North London, Lennox House is a large, modern and comfortable care home providing the best care and support for older people. We’re dedicated to providing nursing and residential care including expert care for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

    Our carers experience specific dementia training developed by Care UK’s own in-house experts to better understands the challenges faced by individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. This allows our team at Lennox House care home to provide helpful and sensitive care.
