    We are looking for Maintenance/Drivers to join us at our care home called Milner House in Leatherhead. This is a fabulous opportunity if you are hands on, enjoy driving and love working with people.  We will provide you with one of our brand new 8 seated fully serviced Care UK Mini buses to use during work as well as offer you full training, uniform, pension scheme, health plans and many more benefits.

    Pay Rate - £ 9.00- £9.50 per hour  

    As our Maintenance Person, you’ll be a valuable member of our friendly, close-knit team, promoting the well-being of our residents and the successful running of our care home. 

    Your duties for this position will include:

    You will need to ensure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard.

    You will perform regular checks, carry out repairs and when needed contact engineers or service agents.

    You’ll be confident doing fire, basic electrical and appliance checks. Any faults must then be reported and actioned promptly.

    We will also expect you to keep the grounds looking tidy and carry out general redecoration work.


    As our Driver - this is a great opportunity if you enjoying driving.  You must be over 21 years of age and have held a valid driving licence for at least 2 years.

    Your duties for this position will include:

    Collecting and returning members of staff on various shifts from the local railway station (morning and evening)

    To be flexible and to be able to accommodate split shifts

    You will work closely with the Activity Organisers placing our residents’ health, welfare and interests first at all times on planned excursions.You’re polite and professional manner will help residents enjoy their trips and feel safe and secure.

    To be responsible for performing regular checks and visual inspections of the vehicle and conforming to the appropriate reporting procedures when finding fault.
    To be responsible for maintaining the vehicle to a high standard of cleanliness in line with vehicle maintenance guidelines.
    Ensuring that the vehicle is available for servicing, or inspection when required. You may need to source alternative transport to/from the garage if the vehicle has to remain for repair for an extended period.
    Take responsibility by following tailored plans of assistance for mobility, communication and physical care.

    Respect rights for privacy and demonstrate high professional standards of propriety in their day-to-day work.

    Understand and maintain confidentiality at all times.
    Attend training as required to enhance and update their skills and maintain a record of this training.
    Maintain a safe environment for other staff, members and visitors through an awareness of statutory requirements for fire, health and safety and manual handling policies.


    Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults / Mental Capacity Act

    You will be required to complete training on Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and the Mental Capacity Act. As part of this, you will be able to understand and implement SVA and MHA policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for reporting any safeguarding concerns to the senior person on duty or on-call Regional Director.

    Milner House is an attractive, well-converted care home located in a quiet and leafy area of Leatherhead in Surrey. We offer residential, nursing and respite care for older people, including individuals with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. We also offer sensitive and supportive end of life care.

    Built in the 1890s, Milner House is an impressive listed Victorian mansion with original portraits on the staircase and a piano in the reception area. The home provides the highest standard of comfort and security for residents, but still retains a great deal of character and a sense of history.

    Our friendly and welcoming team places an emphasis on making sure that we always communicate well with residents and their loved ones. We take the time to find out what residents think and we value what they have to say. Our regular meetings with residents and families are a chance for us to get valuable feedback and to share news about daily life at the home and any developments we have planned.
